Volkswagen, Europe’s largest automotive manufacturer, is accelerating its electric offensive and making significant strides toward a sustainable future. By 2027, they plan to introduce eleven new all-electric models, offering an extensive range of electric vehicles to cater to various needs and budgets. Volkswagen’s Electrifying Vision


Volkswagen is making bold moves in the world of electric mobility, aiming to provide customers with diverse options. Their upcoming lineup will encompass everything from affordable compact cars, priced at less than 25,000 euros (Approximately $27,000 USD), to spacious family saloons. Additionally, they plan to introduce sporty and emotive GTI versions of selected models from the all-electric ID. family.

One of the highlights of Volkswagen’s electric vision is the ID. GTI Concept, unveiled at the IAA Mobility event in Munich. This concept car offers a sneak peek into how Volkswagen plans to bring the iconic GTI label into the electric age. The production version, based on the modular electric drive (MEB) platform, is expected to hit the roads in 2027. Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, describes it as “the perfect combination of driving pleasure and everyday usability.”

He further adds, “With the ID. GTI Concept, we are taking the GTI DNA into the electric age. It remains sporty, iconic, technologically progressive, and accessible, but now with a new interpretation for tomorrow’s world: electric, fully connected, and extremely emotive. Here, driving pleasure and sustainability are a perfect match. This means GTI has a future – for our brand and for the fans.”

Revamped Brand DNA and Extended Features


Volkswagen has undergone significant changes to align with its ACCELERATE strategy, emphasizing a clear customer focus. Their goal is to become a love brand, offering affordable electric mobility solutions for everyone. In 2026, they plan to launch the ID.2all, an electric car priced under 25,000 euros, to expand their portfolio in the entry-level segment.

Volkswagen’s new design language centers on stability, likeability, and excitement, both in the exterior and interior of their vehicles. They’re enhancing the user experience with high-quality materials and intuitive interfaces. Plus, they’re stepping up their game in software and infotainment, introducing advanced features, including the intelligent IDA voice assistant and larger displays.

An Inclusive Brand at IAA Mobility

In the heart of Munich’s city centre: Volkswagen’s Open Space.


At the IAA Mobility event, Volkswagen isn’t just showcasing their impressive vehicles; they’re also promoting inclusivity and diversity. The Open Space at Odeonsplatz in Munich serves as a hub for engaging discussions and encounters. Visitors can enjoy various activities, including concerts and panel discussions covering social topics.

Volkswagen’s commitment to inclusion is evident throughout the event. The exhibition stand and Open Space are wheelchair-accessible, and sign language interpreters will be available at all events. Special stand tours for blind individuals will also be offered.
